While the correct color and pattern may cohesively bring an outfit together, it’s the texture that truly adds depth…
What better way to brave the first day of the week than with the added protection of some extra-natty tweed?
Pictured below: Private label tweed windowpane coat which is 3/8ths lined and has patch pockets, private label sort shirt, CP Company chunky shawl sweater, Levi’s Made & Crafted denim, shark belt by Kleinberg, footwear by Eastland, Happy Socks, pocket square and scarf by Seaward Stearn.
And as such, flannel seems especially appropriate.
Here’s what owner Jim Ockert was wearing yesterday:
Khaki’s private label custom suit in Holland & Sherry navy flannel windowpane, wool tie, silk/wool scarf by Seaward and Stearn, Khaki’s private label custom dress shirt with a lavender check, Eyebobs readers.
And on the feet… Gaziano & Girling made-to-order double monks with a cap-toe, ram’s head medallion, double leather sole and narrow waist, and natural colored sole edging.

What he’s wearing: Custom J. Lawrence soft coat, 3/8ths lined with Zegna fabric, J. Lawrence custom shirt, wool bow tie, worsted wool trousers with 2″ cuffs, Edward Green Westminsters in walnut country calf with a double sole, natural edging, and a medallion cap, American alligator belt with sterling silver buckle, 44mm 15 year old Panerai watch with a blue alligator wristband by Kleinberg.
Happy New Year!
If you’ve ever been in need of a bad weather shoe, this is the holy grail. We had this Ullswater model from Edward Green done on the 202 last in walnut country calf, with a double sole and dainite bottoms, as well as a Norwegian welt. Go ahead and try; you can’t hurt these puppies!
The winter’s chill has been biting especially hard here in Carmel lately, so it’s finally become time to pack on the pounds (of clothing, that is). Something as simple as a cardigan underneath an outerwear jacket goes a long way toward  keeping warm, while also allowing one to look great after the jacket is removed once indoors. Don’t forget the scarf – this finishing touch can add a whole new personality to an outfit in addition to being a functional cold weather accessory!
Because sometimes, you just have to throw caution to the wind and wear what makes you happy. Plaid on plaid on plaid!
As the Holidays approach, we at Khaki’s try to help shoppers find not just the perfect piece, but rather the perfect ensemble. Call us at any time to set up an appointment with our specialists who will help guide you through the entire process (831) 625-8106.
Much of the menswear industry’s hype goes to the iconic Italian brands, but American design and craftsmanship is making quite the comeback. With designers like Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, and Woolrich, it’s easy to see why the the U.S. has resurged and reclaimed it’s share of the marketplace. Trimmer, shorter, and an emphasis on quality seems to be the name of the game!
Sometimes, no matter how nice the fabric is, cotton just doesn’t keep shape like you want it to. The same holds true for corduroy, so here at Khaki’s we had some wool corduroy slacks made up for the store. Constructed from Loro Piana Zelander fabric, they’re ultra-cozy, travel well, and offer a nice alternative to the traditional cotton cord.
